Maureen and Nolan officially tied the knot in June, but their reception at Buffalo Creek Brewing in Long Grove was the perfect way to gather their friends and family for a celebration. While there were so many moments I loved—like watching Maureen’s cousin dancing to preschool songs with Maureen and Nolan’s son, Austin, while Maureen was getting ready, the beautiful weather, and enlisting helpful friends like McKayla to be my assistant for our signature end-of-the-night shot—these are just a few of my favorite highlights from their special day.
Photos with the Long Grove Bridge
We made sure to take advantage of the iconic Long Grove covered bridge for portraits. This historic landmark, known for its unique design and vintage charm, provided the perfect backdrop for some truly beautiful images. Capturing the couple there added a touch of timelessness to their celebration, making those shots extra special.
The Wedding Cake
One of the standout details was their wedding cake, created by a close friend of Maureen's. The cake featured a simple design adorned with bright fall flowers, but the real personal touch came from the die-cut pint glasses displayed in front with "Mr. & Mrs." on them. It was a fun and fitting nod to the brewery venue and added a playful, yet meaningful, element to their celebration.
Football Fandom at the Reception
A moment that really stood out to me was when a few guests were huddled together, catching the Georgia vs. Alabama football game on their phones. It was a lighthearted, candid moment that added an extra layer of personality to the day, showing that even amidst the celebration, the guests were enjoying both the party and a bit of football on the side!
